Research

Concentration area: APPLIED STATISTICS AND BIOMETRY

It is intended in this area of concentration to work with research aiming at the application of statistical or biometric methods known and / or new in knowledge areas that require more elaborate statistical analysis

Research Lines: STATISTICAL METHODS

The research line Statistical Methods aims at proposing statistical methodologies for the creation of new efficient methods to improve existing methods and validate / verify commonly used methods. Some areas of activity of this research line are: design of experiments; modeling, processing and interpretation of data; univariate and multivariate analysis of continuous, discrete, multicategoric and binary data, analysis of referenced data such as longitudinal, georeferenced data; and theoretical, probabilistic and stochastic studies. In this research line, there are 6 teachers of the 12 program teachers, according to ther education and experience.

Research Lines: BIOMETRICS

The research line in Biometrics aims at using, modifying and / or creating methodologies for information collection and statistical analysis of data from bioassays. These researchers from this line work in statistical modeling of experimental data in the areas of animal and plant breeding, more specifically in the selection of individuals by estimating genetic parameters from analysis involving pedigree information, molecular markers and gene expression. In this research line, there are 6 teachers of the 12 program teachers, according to ther education and experience.
